Building Block 4 - Befriend Your Fear

After completing the Blueprinting phase of the Building Blocks of Manifestation, you are ready to move on to the Bridging Phase.  Now that you have a clear vision and dream for a life you would love living; you've tested it; and you know you are deserving; you may now being feeling a huge void, a huge ‘gap’.

This gap is the space between the life you’ve known and the life you want to create.  During this three part Bridging phase, we will work to bridge this gap, beginning with Part 4 - Befriending Your Fear.

Fear can be the biggest obstacle that stops people from going after their dreams.  Unfortunately we cannot totally eliminate fear from our lives, but we can learn ways to better manage its presence and not let it paralyze us.

When we feel fear in our lives, this tells us that we are stepping out of our warm and fuzzy comfort zone.  For many of us, the first sign of fear makes us stop and quickly revert back to the familiar parts of our lives where it’s comfortable.  But guess what?  Those people who revert back will always remain in their comfort zone.  A simple, but profound quote by Albert Einstein helps to illustrate why we have to push beyond our boundaries, if we really want to achieve our dreams:

"If you do what you always did,
you will get what you always got."

Our dreams will always lie outside of our comfort zone.  That is where the magic happens, therefore we must learn to embrace the fear and forge ahead.  Remember that fear doesn’t mean we can’t do something, it just means we haven’t.  Once we truly understand the role of fear in our lives, we can learn to control it and not the other way around.

To embrace the fear in our lives practice the following:

  • Understand the source – when you feel fear in your life, stop to think where it’s coming from.  Is it because you are making strides toward your dream?  If so, accept the fear as part of the journey.
  • Face your fears – Try to do one thing every single day to face your fear.  It could be as simple as talking to a stranger or making a phone call you have been putting off.
  • Don’t dwell on your fears - do not spend time with your fearful thoughts.  Try to acknowledge that they exist and then move on.  By not giving them power, you will continue to build the connection with the life you want to lead.
  • Remember that the power within you is greater than any circumstance and that your history does not dictate your future.

Do you have a new understanding of the role fear plays in your life?  Are you ready to befriend your fears, so you can move forward with creating the life you love?  If so, you are ready to move on to the next step.

In Part 5, we will be discussing how to welcome a greater flow of abundance in your life.
